Chimneys

We can help with a wide range of chimney work, including repointing, rendering and capping your chimney stack. Ensuring that your chimney is in good condition is not only important in terms of appearance, but it is also crucial for safety.

If your chimney has loose bricks or is structurally unsound, then it is at risk of collapsing and causing damage to your property, as well as hurting passersby. We are highly experienced at installing, maintaining, repairing and replacing chimneys. Here are just some of the tasks we commonly carry out:

• Repointing: If the mortar between the bricks has weakened, we’ll replace it. This ensures that moisture cannot seep into the chimney and roofing materials.
• Rendering: Loose render is a sign of damage on your chimney, and can pose a safety risk if left untreated. We will remove and replace any loose render on your chimney.
• Capping: A chimney cap stops rainwater from getting into your chimney, so it’s important that it’s intact. Our team can install, repair and replace chimney capping.
• Leadwork and welding: Lead is often used as flashing around a chimney base, as it is a durable material that strengthens the chimney stack and keeps it waterproof. We can carry out leadwork on your chimney.

Parapet walls

A parapet is a low wall above the roofline that protects the edges of the roof. It is sometimes used for fire protection, although some properties have parapets for purely aesthetic purposes. Whatever your reason, we can install, repair and maintain your parapet.
